Greetings Mustang Families, Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am honored to serve the students, families and community as the principal of Santa Margarita School. I look forward to partnering with you as we continue to navigate these ever-changing and uncertain times. As the newest member of our school team, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I began my teaching career twenty-four years ago and have worked at both the school and district levels to provide instructional leadership, professional development, technical assistance and administrative support to a diverse population of student and adult learners throughout Riverside and San Diego counties. Most recently, I served as an Elementary Principal in south San Diego and this will be my sixth year as a school administrator. I am a first generation college graduate with two sons currently attending college. I earned a Bachelor of Psychology, a Master of Curriculum & Instruction, and a Master of Educational Leadership & Administration. I’m a member of the International Society of Technology in Education as well as the Association of California School Administrators. I’m also a proud USC Trojan and NFL alumni. However, I think the most important thing to know about me professionally is that I love the work that I do! I get immense pleasure from supporting the success of others, especially when it comes to student academic achievement and social-emotional growth. As your principal, you can count on me to be communicative, approachable, supportive, student-centered, and committed to excellence. When I am not working or volunteering, I enjoy dancing, reading, watching movies, traveling with my husband of twenty-four years, and spending time with family, friends and our adorable maltese, Andy. I can’t wait to learn about your student(s) as we work together to ensure that all student(s) receive the highest quality education, in the most supportive environment possible. Due to Covid-19, Lifetouch is facing delays in printing and shipping and is unable to make any time commitments at this time. Because of this, I still do not have a definite shipping date from them. I can only say that they will hopefully be here sometime this summer.
